Firepits Ipswich – the Eco Fuego from Lumberjacks

If you want to get more use out of your garden in the winter months – and the summer months too – then a chiminea or a firepit are two perfect solutions for extending those entertaining evenings in your garden, whether you’re hosting a garden party or just enjoying a relaxing drink or bite to eat. But which one is best for you? As experts when it comes to both firepits and chimineas, here are our helpful suggestions.

The Advantages of Chimineas

Chimineas have great aesthetic appeal – they look like a standalone garden ornament (even when not in use) as well as being functional, so they add charm and character to any outdoor space.

They also work very well when you have a small garden – the smoke goes upwards, so you don’t have to worry about bothering the neighbours so much. Chimineas are good for safety as well – there’s a much lower chance of any sparks or embers igniting anything else in the garden, making chimineas a better choice if you have young children around.

They are also less likely to be affected by bad weather, such as high winds or heavy rain, making them a good choice maintenance-wise.

A chiminea also presents plenty of cooking options, particularly if you have an internal grill. You can cook sausages and other BBQ favourites, but make sure you keep turning them and checking on them regularly to make sure they don’t get overcooked or even burnt. Alternatively, you could also cook something which takes a little longer, such as a stew or casserole, if you fit your chiminea with an internal grill.

The Advantages of Firepits

Firepits have aesthetic appeal too – but it tends to be more of a minimalist, modern or contemporary style in comparison to chimineas.

They provide 360-degree heat, as it radiates outwards in all directions – meaning it’s far more sociable if you have friends or family round where everyone can sit around the firepit and enjoy its warmth.

In terms of fireside cooking, firepits are best if you want to grill, skewer or spit-roast something (such as sausages or marshmallows) – you can easily keep track of whether or not it’s ‘done’ if you have a good skewer or something similar. Having a hanging grill for your firepit will also increase your cooking options, and it will make it safer too.

Another benefit of firepits is that they are very easy to clean – what you see is what you get; there are no hidden crevices or corners to locate, so overall they are very low maintenance.

They Share Plenty of Advantages Too

Both chimineas and firepits provide welcome heat sources for the winter months, providing a way to extend your garden’s use – particularly as an outdoor cooking, eating and drinking area.

And both can be supplied by Lumberjacks – and, if you can’t decide, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t have one of each as they are competitively priced.
